Glenn is a native of Choctaw County, Mississippi. He earned his undergraduate degree from Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi, and his Masters of Divinity Degree from the Chandler School of Theology, Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Glenn was assigned to his first church in September, 1967, and has served as a pastor to churches in the Atlanta area and Mississippi. He also spent five years working as Assistant Director of the United Methodist Hour of Mississippi, where he assisted in producing and directing a 30 minute radio and television program that aired weekly on 34 radio and 14 television stations.
Prior to moving to Iowa, Glenn lived in Illinois. There he was Chaplain at Wesley Willows Retirement Center.
Glenn and his wife, Joyce, live in West Des Moines and have four children and eight grandchildren.
